  • Access: Can a FAITAS account be created without a Social Security Number?

    U.S. citizens are required to enter a valid Social Security Number (SSN) when creating a FAITAS account. There are no alternative means for U.S. citizens to register within the system. Failure to accurately provide the requested information will be cause for account deactivation. If you do not wish to provide your SSN to register in FAITAS, exploring training options through approved equivalent providers is recommended.

    The unique identifier is used to ensure successful migration of external records into FAITAS as it is consistently linked to other Government Learning Management and Training Application Systems as well as to the Government Human Resources database, Enterprise Human Resources Integration (EHRI). Provision ensures that past and present records can be properly attributed to individual FAITAS accounts.

    Social Security Numbers are subject to the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. Section 552a). Collection of this information is authorized by Titles 5  U.S.C. and 31 U.S.C. Generally, the SSN is authorized by Public Law 93-579 Section 7 (b) and Executive Order 9397.

  • Access: How do I access my online course after enrolling?

    FAI online courses are hosted in two different systems:

    1. Several online courses are hosted on the FAITAS LMS. These courses are identified by a “(FED)” after the number, for example, FAC-006 (FED).
    2. All other online courses are offered by DAU Virtual Campus.

    To access a FAITAS LMS course,

    1. Login to https://faitas.army.mil/faitas.
    2. Locate the My Training dashboard widget.
    3. To launch/begin the course, click the course title. NOTE: Employees have twenty-one (21) days to launch/begin a course to avoid a No Show status. If the course is NOT launched within twenty-one (21) days, the Employee will be dropped from the course and marked as a No Show. Once launched, Employees have sixty (60) days to complete the course.

    To register for and access DAU Online Training (OLT), please visit https://dau.csod.com to begin the registration process.

  • Access: How do I register in FAITAS?

    1. Navigate to https://faitas.army.mil/faitas.
    2. Read the U.S. Government Information System warning.
    3. Click the I Agree button.
    4. Click the Register Here button on the login screen.
    5. Enter your federal email address* and click the Register button.
    6. In the confirmation email from FAITAS@FAI.gov, Click the referenced link. NOTE: If you do not receive an automated email within 15 minutes after clicking the Request Reset button, ask your IT Department to add @FAI.gov as a trusted domain and re-attempt the process.
    7. Complete the Registration Information and Security Question fields. NOTE: If you are a Foreign National and do not have a Social Security Number, you can register in FAITAS with an Employee Identification Number (EIN). Review the Foreign National FAQ for additional information.
    8. Click the Continue Registration link.
    9. Complete the required Profile fields and click the Create Profile button. NOTE: Check a recent pay stub or contact Human Resources if you do not know your Pay Plan, Pay Grade or Job Series information. If you are unsure about your Acquisition Workforce (AWF) status, contact your Agency Acquisition Career Manager.
    10. Read and respond to the Employee Statement.
    11. If you will be submitting requests/applications through this account, you MUST select a Supervisor. NOTE: Supervisors must have an account in order for Employees to select them. If your Supervisor is not found in the system, you may need to request that he/she create a FAITAS account.

    Helpful Hints

    1. If you are unsure about your Acquisition Workforce (AWF) status, contact your Agency Acquisition Manager.

    Looking for Section 508 Training?

    If you are looking for Section 508 training, you may access Micro-Purchases and Section 508 Requirements (FAC 047) and other Section 508 training courses without the need to create a FAITAS account

    1. Visit https://www.section508.gov/
    2. Click Tools & Training then select on Find a Training Class
    3. Under the Online Training select the 508 training you wish to take
    4. If you need to take FAC 047, select Micro-Purchases and Section 508 Requirements

    NOTE: Once you have completed each training course, a link to view/print your certificate of completion will be available.  Enter your name in the form field and then print your certificate of completion for your records.

  • Access: I am a Foreign National. How do I register in FAITAS?

    Foreign Nationals who do not have a valid U.S. Social Security Number may request and use an Employee Identification Number (EIN) to register in FAITAS. To obtain an EIN:

    1. Create a ticket for FAI Customer Service [Refer to Additional Information below]

      • As Category, select FAITAS - Account & Password.
      • As Sub-Category, select System Registration.
      • As Item, select EIN Request.
    2. In the body of the email, include your Name, Agency, and Country of Origin (country where you were born). NOTEFAITAS Help Desk will reply within two (2) business days after receiving the request.

    Once you receive an EIN, follow these instructions to create a FAITAS account.

    1. Go to https://faitas.army.mil/FAITAS.
    2. Read the U.S. Government Information System warning.
    3. Click the I Agree button.
    4. Click the Register Here link on the login screen.
    5. Enter your Federal Email address and click Register.
    6. Follow instructions in confirmation email from FAITAS@FAI.gov and click the link provided. NOTE: If you do not receive an automated email within 15 minutes, have your IT department add @FAI.gov as a trusted domain and re-attempt the process.
    7. Fill out Registration Information and Security Questions and click Continue Registration.
    8. Update the required Profile fields.
    9. As a Foreign Service National, make the following selections:
      • State: AA-Armed Forces Americas, AE-Armed Forces Europe/Middle East, or AP-Armed Forces Pacific. NOTE: Disregard “Armed Forces” in the selection description if not applicable; make a selection based on location details.
      • Zip Code: Enter the zip code for your agency’s Washington, DC office
      • Pay Plan: F – Non-U.S. Civilian or Military
    10. Click Create Profile.

    Helpful Hints

    1. If Acquisition Workforce Member information is unknown, contact your Agency Acquisition Career Manager.
    2. Supervisor selection is required if requests/applications will be submitted through the account. Supervisors must have an account in order for Employees to select them in their profiles.

  • Access: What if I have locked myself out of my FAITAS account?

    If you are unable to verify your identity using the online Password Reset process, please call the FAITAS Help Desk at (703) 752-9604 between the hours of 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM Eastern Time, Monday - Friday. The FAI CSS Team is required to verify your PII (Personally Identifiable Information), by phone, to verify account ownership. Please do not send any PII via email or Help Desk ticket.

    Once your password has been reset, and you have successfully logged into your account, please ensure you update your security questions as needed, by navigating to My Account | Update Security Questions.

    NOTE: Due to increased security, you will be unable to see previous answers, but may change your questions/answers and save accordingly.

  • Access: Why has my account been suspended?

    User accounts are automatically deactivated after two years of inactivity or at the request of the Acquisition Career Manager. To request reactivation, contact the FAI Help Desk. If your FAITAS account has been reactivated, please utilize the following steps to regain full functionality of the system.

    1. Navigate to < https://faitas.army.mil/faitas > and click the Forgot Your Password link

    2. Enter the federal email address associated with your FAITAS account and click the Continue button

    3. At this time, you may either:

      • Answer your security questions accordingly and select Request Reset Link

        OR

      • Enter your Date of Birth (DOB) and Last 4 of your Social Security Number (SSN) and select the Request Reset Link button

        NOTE: You have three (3) attempts to answer correctly. If you are unsuccessful, you will be locked out of your account and prompted to contact the FAI Customer Service Support Team to verify account ownership

    4. In the confirmation email from < FAITAS@fai.gov >, click the referenced link

      NOTE I: The link contained within this email is only valid for 6 hours. If it has been longer than this timeframe since you have requested this link, you will receive an error message. At this time, you will be required to re-complete the process.

      NOTE II: If you do not receive an automated email within 15 minutes after clicking the Request Reset Link button, ask your IT Department to add @FAI.gov as a trusted domain and re-attempt the process. Please also check your junk/spam folders as many notification/do-not-reply emails can be classified as such by your Agency’s Email Settings.

    5. Enter and confirm new password according to the criteria on the Reset Password page

    6. Click Reset Password

    7. Upon logging in, you will be automatically routed to update your FAITAS Profile

      • In the row labeled Agency/ Bureau/ Sub Bureau, click the Search Bureaus button 

      • Select your Agency, Bureau, and, if necessary, your Sub Bureau(s)

      • Click the Select button to return to the Profile screen.

    8. Click Select User to the right of the Supervisor Name field

      • Enter First Name, Last Name or Email Address in the appropriate fields of the Search Users window

      • Click Search, then Select to the left of the individual you wish to designate as your supervisor

      • Select the checkbox to certify the selected supervisor is valid

    9. Click Update Information

      NOTE I: If a new Supervisor is selected, a request will be sent to the named Supervisor for approval. This request must be approved before this user may review any of your requests within FAITAS, i.e. Training, Certifications, Continuous Learning, etc. Any submitted requests will be pending with your currently approved Supervisor until the request is approved.

      NOTE II: If an error message is returned stating, “No User was found matching those criteria,” it is possible that the individual being designated as Supervisor does not have an account or their account has been suspended due to inactivity. He/she will be required to create an account to be assigned the appropriate role needed to manage employees. To send an invitation to your Supervisor, select Send an Invitation and follow the prompts.

    10. Navigate to My Account | Update Security Questions to update your answers, as necessary

    11. Logout or proceed with your next desired action

  • Help Desk: How do I contact the FAI Help Desk?

    The FAI Help Desk – open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (EST) -- is in place to address the system functionality of FAITAS.

    • Click the Certification Manager link in the second bullet.

    • Navigate to fai.gov | Human Capital | Acquisition Career Manager (ACM).
    • If you are employed by a CFO ACT Agency, hover the cursor over your Agency’s seal to view the ACM’s contact information and click the link to open an email to your Agency’s POC.
    • If you are part of the Small Agency Council, select the Small Agency Council ACM’s tab to locate your Agency and appropriate POC.
    • If your Agency’s information is not visible on the FAI website or is incorrect, select the Help Desk link from the top navigation bar to initiate a ticket inquiry.
  • Notifications: Who can I contact if I am not receiving system-generated email notifications?

    If you are not receiving FAITAS system-generated email notification please check your Spam/Junk folder.  If they are not located here, please notify your IT Department and request they add @fai.gov domains as trusted sources.

    To make sure you get FAITAS emails to your inbox and not your Spam/Junk folder, please follow the guidance below.

    Outlook Users:

    1. Select Junk from the Home tab on the Outlook ribbon
    2. Select Junk E-mail Options from the menu options
    3. Select the Safe Sender tab
    4. Select the Add button
    5. Enter FAITAS@fai.gov in the email address field
    6. Click the OK button
    7. Repeat steps 4 – 6 to add Certification@fai.gov and CL@fai.gov

    Or, if the “Also trust email from my contacts” checkbox is selected in the Safe Senders tab or your Junk E-mail Options, you may add each email address as a contact to prevent FAITAS notifications going to your Junk folder.

    Gmail Users:

    1. Select Settings from the Settings menu
    2. Select Filters and Blocked Addresses
    3. Select Create a new filter
    4. Enter @fai.gov
    5. Select Create filter with this search
    6. Check the box next to Never send it to Spam
    7. Select Create filter

  • Password: How do I reset my password?

    1. Navigate to < https://faitas.army.mil/faitas > and click the Forgot Your Password link

  • Process: How do I browse for course information using the Course Catalog?

    The following instructions provide guidance on how to use the FAITAS Course Catalog to look up course information. Please be advised that all search results are only for courses with upcoming scheduled classes.

    1. If not logged into FAITAS, click on the Course Catalog navigation bar link.

    2. If logged into FAITAS, navigate to Manage Career | Training | Course Catalog or click on the Course Catalog button in the Dashboard’s My Current Training widget.

    3. Enter the course ID or course title key words into the Search Courses field, or begin using the filter menus to browse for available training.
      NOTE: With each filter that is added or removed, the Catalog will automatically return courses fitting the selected criteria

    4. Hover your mouse over the Course Card you are interested in. The card will flip and display the description of the course.

    5. Click the Details/Apply button to open the Course Details window. This window will display the Course Description, the CLP value, and (for Instructor-Led courses only) a Class Schedule button.

    6. If an Instructor-Led course has been selected, click the Class Schedule button to view a list of upcoming class offerings for the selected course.
      NOTE: The filter criteria you used when starting your search will have carried over to the list of scheduled classes. You may continue to add or remove filter options to narrow or broaden your class search.

    7. Click on the Class Number button in the Class column to view prerequisites, class dates, and class location.

  • Process: Why am I receiving a "Security Certificate" or "Untrusted Connection/Connection not Private" error message when attempting to access FAITAS?

    If you are experiencing a Security Certificate Error Message when accessing FAITAS < https://faitas.army.mil/FAITAS > from a government network, please note that FAITAS’ security certificate has been upgraded. Please provide your IT department with the following guidance so they may assist you with installing the DOD root certificates.

    Updates to your Agency-Issued computer are typically pushed by your Agency's internal IT organization.  However, since FAITAS is a federal-wide system, we are unable to push an updated security certificate to your Agency-Issued or home-based computer.  The required Security Certificate, which is not updated often, is issued by the Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) and may be downloaded and installed by you or your Agency's internal IT organization by utilizing the directions below.

    3. You will be prompted to Open/Run/Save the installation file, InstallRoot_5.2x32_NonAdmin.msi . The need to save is not required, so it is your preference on which of the available options you choose.

    4. Upon opening the InstallRoot_5.2x32_NonAdmin.msi file, you will be presented with the InstallRoot Setup Wizard. Simply choose Next after reading each step of the Wizard.

      NOTE: If after clicking Next you are prompted to Modify, Repair, or Remove the InstallRoot tool, this indicates you have previously installed the software. Please skip to the second note at the end of these instructions.

    5. When prompted to select the features you wish to install, ensure that *at least* the "Graphical Interface" is checked. Afterwards, click on Next and then Install.

    6. After the installation of the tool is complete, click Run InstallRoot.

    7. At this point, you may be prompted to add the certificates to Firefox (if installed on your computer). It is recommended that you select "Yes," but if you primarily access FAITAS with Internet Explorer, this is not required.

    8. A Quick Start screen will appear showing screenshots of the final steps you will need to take to complete the installation. Please read the red text instructions within these screenshots and choose Next until you're able to select Finish.

    9. After selecting Finish, you should be presented with a Microsoft Current User tab and, if you chose to install certificates to Firefox as indicated in step #8, a Firefox tab should also appear for each Firefox profile on your computer. Please look under each of these tabs and make sure that Install DoD Certificates has a green checkmark. The other certificates (ECA and JITC) are not required.

    10. Click on the Install Certificates button.
       

      Note I: If you experience any difficulty installing these certificates on a work-issued computer, please consult your local IT group and ask them to install the administrator version of InstallRoot that's available for download on the same website identified in step #1.

      Note II: If you previously installed the “InstallRoot” tool, you most likely will not need to take any further action, and you may close out of the InstallRoot setup process if still open.

  • Profile: How can I update my Profile?

    How can I update my FAITAS Profile?

    If your federal email has changed and you do not have access to your account, contact the FAI Help Desk to initiate an inquiry. Ensure that you provide both your new and old federal email addresses within the details. An FAI Help Desk analyst will contact you once this update has been made on your behalf.

    To update your Profile:

    1. Login to FAITAS < https://faitas.army.mil/faitas >
    2. Navigate to My Account | Update Profile
    3. Edit fields which require updating
    4. Click Update Information

    NOTE: Fields in bold, maroon text are required fields.

     

    To update your Email Address:

    1. Navigate to My Account | Update Email
    2. Enter the email address for which you wish to update for login and notification purposes
    3. Select the Update Email button to save the changes made

     

    To update your Agency/Bureau/Sub Bureau, please follow the instructions below:

    Please note that changing bureaus will impact in-progress Certification and Continuous Learning Requests, remove assigned system Roles, and may terminate an active Warrant.

    1. Login to FAITAS < http://faitas.army.mil/faitas >
    2. Navigate to My Account | Update Profile
    3. Scroll to the Profile Information section

    NOTE: Current Agency and Bureau selections are grayed out; these will update with changes made in the Agency/Bureau/Sub Bureau field
